Edges

No stone design is complete without the proper edging. Choosing the right one adds character and a final touch of artistry to your project. Our Euro Marble Supply design team can help you select this perfect final touch on your custom design.

Finishes

Though marble is beautiful in its natural form, choosing the proper finish can help complete and enhance your project. Different finishes work best for different designs and stones, and we are proud to offer a variety of finishes here at Euro Marble Supply.

Leathered

This finish, created when fabricators move diamond-tipped brushes across the stone surface, is reminiscent of both the look and feel of leather. This specialty finish is most commonly applied to dark-colored granite and has a textured appearance. Lacking any kind of shine, leathered stone hides fingerprints and smudges well. It should be cleaned daily with a stone cleaner and microfiber cloth, and can also be polished with a stone polish to reduce absorbency.

Honed

“Honed” means the surface of the stone has been ground to a smooth, consistent surface. For stones with a natural shine like granite or marble, the polish or shine is removed, leaving a matte (unpolished) surface with little to no reflection and no bumps or ridges. It is fairly porous and natural looking; the color will be visibly lighter than a polished finish. Though a honed finish doesn’t bring out the color as much as other finishes, it does cut down on glare and helps mask imperfections.

Polished

This smooth, reflective finish draws out the color and texture of the stone for a rich look. A polished finish has a highly reflective surface, which displays the vibrancy of the stone’s colors as well as the “character” of the stone. The texture is very smooth and is not very porous. The full color, depth, and crystal structure is visible with a polished finish. It’s also easier to keep a polished stone clean and free of stains because its seal closes the pores of the stone’s surface and repels moisture.
